Existentialism and the phd life
In 2018, my good friend, colleague and sage, Natalie Hardwicke and I co-authored this paper on our PhDs, outlining our liminal journey “betwixt and between” academia and industry, where we regularly shift our hats through multiple identities as we discover who we are through our research. This paper forms part of our public sensemaking.
It seems almost fitting and unfortunately extremely serendipitous that Nat suddenly passed away the Friday before we were meant to present this to our fellow PhD students. Those months were some of the hardest in my life.
